Manchester United are working to complete the signing of Cameroonian forward Bryan Mbeumo before departing for the United States of America for their pre-season tour.
The English Premier League giants have been in talks to sign the forward from Brentford since last month.
The Cameroonian international has emerged as a key target for United in the ongoing transfer window, but negotiations have stalled due to disagreements over valuation.
Mbeumo, who enjoyed an outstanding 2024/25 campaign, is believed to be eager to join United, a club he has supported since his youth.
However, Standard Sport reports that the forward is becoming disillusioned with the pace of talks as the Red Devils’ initial offers have fallen short of Brentford’s asking price.
United have already added Brazilian striker Matheus Cunha to their squad after activating his £62.5 million release clause, but manager Ruben Amorim remains keen to strengthen the attack further.
Last season, United managed just 44 Premier League goals, a tally lower than the likes of West Ham, Wolves, and Crystal Palace, underlining the need for more firepower.
Now, Manchester United want to get the deal over the line before the team travels to the US for their pre-season tour.
