The Dutchman Erik ten Hag, coach of Manchester United, continues to overlook the Moroccan international Sofiane Amrabat, by not including him in the team’s line-up, a decision that could lead the club’s management to refrain from activating the purchase option in his contract from Fiorentina.
According to a report by the British site “Express,” Ten Hag persists in ignoring Amrabat by placing him on the bench, a situation that could impact his position in the club, which is seriously considering not activating the purchase option and ending his loan spell next summer.
The same source clarified that the management is in the process of searching for a potential replacement for the Moroccan player, with eyes set on Ross Barkley, a player from Luton Town.
Meanwhile, the newspaper “The Sun” revealed that United has no intention of spending additional money to acquire Amrabat from Fiorentina, indicating that the player will return to Fiorentina after the end of the loan period in June.
Amrabat has participated in 13 matches since his move to the English Premier League, with only 615 minutes played, mostly coming on as a substitute.
It is worth noting that Saudi media reports had previously unveiled the desire of some local league clubs to sign Amrabat, following in the footsteps of his brother Nordin, who played for Al-Nassr.
