Manchester United are set for a financial boost following Anthony Elanga’s imminent transfer from Nottingham Forest to Newcastle United in a deal worth an initial £52 million, as reported by David Ornstein.
Elanga, who left United for Forest in July 2023, will sign a five-year contract with Newcastle after agreeing personal terms. A medical is expected within the next 48 hours, and he could link up with his new teammates before the week ends.
The 23-year-old Swedish winger became a standout figure at Forest, making 83 appearances across all competitions and playing in every Premier League match last season. He registered six goals and 11 assists, helping Forest secure a seventh-place finish and a spot in the UEFA Conference League.
Manchester United, who included a sell-on clause in the deal that took Elanga to Forest, are now set to profit significantly from the transfer. While the exact percentage has not been disclosed, the windfall will be welcomed by the Red Devils as they look to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
