Manchester United legend Paul Scholes insists the Premier League giants can afford Nigeria international Victor Osimhen.
The Red Devils are seeking to bolster their squad for the upcoming season following an inconsistent performance in the just ended campaign, particularly in the Premier league.
At the club embark on a major squad overhaul, the Europa League finalist has completed the acquisition of Matheus Cunha from Wolves.
Osimhen, who is set for a permanent departure from Napoli has been a long-term target for Manchester United.
However, the Red Devils has yet to make an offer for the highly-profiled Nigerian forward due to his demands. Manchester United will have to trigger his release clause at Napoli and agree personal terms before snapping up Osimhen.
And according Scholes, Manchester United landing Osimhen is far from unrealistic.
“I think Osimhen is a very achievable target. When you talk about financial problems, he could be manageable. But I would keep Højlund. I know he’s not been great, but he’s a 22-year-old lad who’s been leading the line for Manchester United alone for the past two years.
He has to play every week, he’s the only one. Manchester United should have at least three top centre-forwards. I’d take him and Osimhen. Him, Osimhen, and Gyökeres,” Scholes told The Overlap Fan Debate.
Meanwhile, Osimhen is on the verge of joining Saudi Pro giants Al Hilal after agreeing personal terms with the club.
