Yaya Touré has reportedly expressed his desire to leave Manchester City, according to his agent, Dimitri Seluk, who spoke to The Sun. The Ivorian midfielder is said to be upset with the treatment he has received from the club, particularly after City allegedly failed to wish him a happy birthday when he turned 31 last week.
“Yaya is so angry that he is thinking of leaving City. There are a number of things that have happened that have bitterly upset him… City have treated him with contempt and have hurt him very badly. They (the directors) do not know that money cannot buy human relationships. This is not about money or a new contract – it is about human relationships, and City have shown that they do not respect it,” Seluk said.
This is not the first time Touré has hinted at leaving the club. In the past, issues have been resolved with pay rises, as seen in 2012 and 2013. However, after an exceptional season, which included a Premier League title and a Carling Cup victory, Touré is reportedly seeking more recognition and respect from Manchester City, beyond just financial considerations.
