Roma Join Race for Manchester City’s Samir Nasri Amid Inter Interest
French midfielder Samir Nasri could be set for a move to Serie A, as interest in the Manchester City playmaker intensifies ahead of the summer transfer window.
Nasri, who endured a difficult 2014–15 season with City, is reportedly on the radar of both Inter Milan and AS Roma. The 27-year-old, born in Marseille to Algerian parents, could be one of several high-profile names to leave the Etihad Stadium as the club prepares for a major squad overhaul.
Inter Milan, managed by Nasri’s former boss Roberto Mancini, have long been linked with the French international. Mancini, who brought Nasri to Manchester in 2011, is said to be keen on reuniting with the midfielder in Milan, believing his creativity and experience could strengthen Inter’s push for European football.
However, according to the Daily Mail, Roma are ready to rival Inter for Nasri’s signature. Coach Rudi Garcia, familiar with Nasri from their time in Ligue 1, is reportedly eager to add the midfielder to his squad as Roma seek to bolster their attacking options.
While Manchester City have yet to comment on Nasri’s future, it is understood that the club is open to offers as they plan a significant reshuffle in the coming months. Injuries and inconsistent form limited Nasri’s impact during the season, and he may now be deemed surplus to requirements under City’s evolving vision.
With two major Serie A clubs showing concrete interest, Nasri’s next destination could mark a fresh start—and potentially a return to form—in Italian football.
