Premier League powerhouse Manchester City are exploring a move for Franco-Algeria attacking midfielder Ryan Cherki as the summer transfer window approaches.
The 21-year-old enjoyed an amazing campaign with Lyon, scoring 12 goals and providing 20 assists with Les Gones in the just ended season.
Cherki, who is set for Lyon departure has attracted significant interest from several clubs following a standout performance in the recently concluded campaign.
Despite having a running contract, the highly-rated winger is expected to end his trade with Lyon.
Aside Manchester City, fellow Premier League outfits Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly interested in the attacker.
Following a challenging campaign, Manchester City are seeking to bolster their squad for next season, joining the race to sign Cherki.
Having pulled out of the race to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz, Manchester City are expected to go all out for the France-Algeria international, who would represent a much cheaper alternative.
The 21-year-old has been named the best young player in the Europa League this season.
Meanwhile, Lyon are expecting a €40m transfer fee in exchange for Cherki’s services.
