Manchester United are preparing a bid for Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze as part of their summer recruitment plans.
Eze, who is of Nigerian descent but represents England at international level, has caught the attention of United manager Ruben Amorim with his performances this season.
The 26-year-old playmaker has been a standout for Palace, and Amorim is said to be strongly in favour of bringing him to Old Trafford.
According to reports, Eze has two years remaining on his current contract with the Eagles, which includes a one-year extension option.
However, Palace are reportedly open to letting him leave for a fee in the region of £50 million or more.
Amorim believes Eze’s creativity and technical ability would add a new dimension to United’s midfield as he looks to reshape the squad following a disappointing league campaign.
Manchester United are expected to face competition for Eze’s signature, with Aston Villa also showing strong interest.
Villa have identified Eze as a potential target if they are unable to secure Marcus Rashford permanently from United.
Rashford is currently on loan at Villa Park and can be signed for £40 million, but his improved form has attracted interest from several top clubs across Europe, making Villa’s pursuit uncertain.
Eze has been instrumental in Palace’s attack, consistently contributing goals and assists, and his ability to unlock defences has not gone unnoticed.
With United aiming to refresh their squad with dynamic talent under Amorim, Eze fits the profile of a versatile attacking midfielder who can operate across multiple positions behind the striker.
