Man Utd linked with Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni

Aurelien Tchouameni, the France-Cameroon defensive midfielder currently at Real Madrid, has been linked with a move to Manchester United.

The 26-year-old, who wears the No 14 shirt at the Bernabeu, is valued at 70m and is being discussed as a potential reinforcement for Uniteds midfield as they look to add a specialist holding player.

Tchouameni joined Real Madrid from AS Monaco ahead of the 2022-23 season, moving after a rapid rise in Ligue 1 where his market value increased from 14m at Bordeaux in late 2019 to 60m at Monaco by May 2022.

Since arriving in Spain, his valuation has fluctuated at a high level, peaking at 100m in June 2024 before settling at 70m in the latest assessment, underlining his status as one of the most highly rated defensive midfielders in Europe.

Born in Rouen and standing at 1.88m, Tchouameni is a right-footed midfielder whose game is built around screening the defence and operating at the base of midfield, a profile that fits Uniteds search for greater stability in front of their back line.

Tchouameni developed through the Bordeaux system, progressing from youth level to the first team before his move to Monaco in January 2020, and has since built experience in both Ligue 1 and La Liga.

There is currently no agreement between Real Madrid and Manchester United, and the rumour remains at an early stage, with his long-term club situation yet to be defined.
