Manchester United youngster Chido Obi has taken a massive step in his international career by making his debut for Denmark’s U21 team.
The 17-year-old forward, who has Nigerian heritage, featured as a second-half substitute in Denmark’s 3-3 draw against Poland in a friendly match played in Turkey on Thursday.
Obi was introduced in the final 15 minutes of the game, gaining valuable experience at the youth international level.
Denmark’s U21 side will now turn their attention to their next fixture against Italy on Monday, where Obi could have another opportunity to impress.
Born and raised in Denmark, Obi has previously represented England at the U16 level.
However, his decision to play for Denmark at the U21 level suggests a stronger commitment to representing his country of birth on the international stage.
At club level, Obi has been steadily breaking into Manchester United’s first team.
The promising forward has already made four Premier League appearances for the Red Devils this season, highlighting his growing reputation within Ruben Amorim’s squad.
With his international debut now behind him, Obi will be looking to build on this momentum and establish himself as a key figure for both Denmark’s U21s and Manchester United in the coming months.
