Manchester United have submitted a formal cash offer for Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouameni, signalling their strong intent to bolster their midfield options ahead of the new season.
Tchouameni, who was born in France and is of Cameroonian descent, has established himself as one of Europe’s top defensive midfielders.
His performances at both club and international level have drawn admiration across the continent, and United are now moving to secure his services from the Spanish giants.
According to Okdiario’s chief pundit Eduardo Inda, who was speaking on Spanish television show El Chiringuito, United’s offer for the 25-year-old midfielder is worth €90 million.
“An offer has arrived from Manchester United for a player that Xabi Alonso is loving and whose name is Aurélien Tchouaméni,” Inda revealed. “The Real Madrid coach believes that he can be much better. He is doing very well at the Club World Cup. They (United) have offered 90 million euros.”
Tchouameni is currently under contract with Real Madrid until 2028 and has featured prominently in their ongoing Club World Cup campaign, where his form has been described as commanding.
Manchester United, under new management, are seeking to reshape their midfield following a season of inconsistent performances.
Tchouameni, with his blend of physicality, tactical awareness, and ability to dictate tempo, is seen as an ideal addition to the Premier League side’s evolving project.
