Manchester United have agreed to meet Brentford’s £65 million asking price for Bryan Mbeumo, paving the way for the Cameroon international to join the Premier League giants ahead of the new season.
The Red Devils had initially balked at Brentford’s valuation, with negotiations dragging on for weeks over the transfer fee.
However, reports from Italy’s TuttoMercatoWeb now indicate that United have softened their stance and consented to pay the full amount, bringing them closer to completing the deal.
According to the report, discussions are currently focused on the structure of the payments, including the timing and size of instalments.
Both clubs are working to reach a formal agreement before the end of the week, with Manchester United determined to include the 25-year-old attacker in their squad for the upcoming pre-season tour of the United States.
Mbeumo has been a long-standing target for United. The forward has privately expressed a strong desire to make the switch to Old Trafford and is reportedly eager to link up with manager Ruben Amorim, who sees him as a key figure in his attacking plans.
