Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso breaks silence on club’s league title triumph

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso has shared his excitement after masterminding the club’s success in the South African Premier League title.

Sundowns clinched the South African championship for the eighth consecutive time following the sides resounding 3-0 win over Chippa United on Wednesday.

After the game, Miguel Cardoso couldn’t hide his emotions but emphasized that the title was hard-earned. He emphasized a tremendous amount of work lies behind this title and hopes that people in South Africa recognize this.

“When you believe in yourself, you make others believe too, and it was crucial to win hearts and minds, because football is born from football. I hope South Africa and the football community as a whole understand the kind of work being done at Mamelodi Sundowns, because in recent weeks it may have seemed like everything just happened, but we weren’t there yet.

But I once said that it would happen under normal or abnormal circumstances—Sundowns would become champions again. We believe in this, and a huge thank you to the players for sharing that belief and always looking ahead, because that’s what it’s all about,” Cardoso said.
