Pyramids FC CEO Mamdouh Eid is leading a moment of pride and joy for the club as he plans a special celebration to honour their first CAF Champions League triumph.
The Sky Blues beat South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns 3-2 on aggregate to lift the continental crown, marking a turning point in the club’s history.
With their victory, Pyramids FC have booked a spot in the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup and will play Auckland City in the Intercontinental Cup on September 14 at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo.
To mark this milestone, the club is hosting a grand ceremony on Monday evening at one of Cairo’s top hotels. Legends of the game and senior officials from across Egypt and Africa have been invited.
At the same time, the club is working hard to strengthen its squad before the transfer window shuts on Wednesday. Brazilian winger Everton da Silva has joined from Banik Ostrava, with deals for Mahmoud Gad, Mostafa Abdel Raouf Zico, and Isak Lidberg close to completion.
Pyramids kick off the league against Wadi Degla on Friday.
