Mamadou Sangare nears Brentford switch as Lens midfielder heads for Premier League move

Mamadou Sangare is on the brink of a move to Brentford, with the RC Lens midfielder having left the club’s pre-season training camp as talks over a transfer to the Premier League advance.

The Mali international has departed Lens’ squad gathering in Como, Italy, and is expected to hold final discussions over his contract before completing the switch.

According to RMC Sport, Brentford have submitted an offer worth €48m for the 24-year-old. The fee does not include potential bonuses but does feature a sell-on clause for Lens.

The deal, once finalised, would represent a significant profit for Lens, who signed Sangare for €5m plus a further €3m in bonuses. The French club are set to boost their finances considerably if the transfer goes through on the reported terms.

Sangare, who has established himself as a full Mali international, is understood to be in the final hours of his time at Racing Club de Lens, with only the last contractual details left to resolve before his move to England can be confirmed.
