German-Senegalese Malick Thiaw draws interest from Manchester United, Bayern and Liverpool

Malick Thiaw has emerged as a transfer target for three European heavyweights after establishing himself as a key figure in Newcastle United’s defence this season.

The 24-year-old centre-back, who joined Newcastle United last summer, has quickly become an undisputed starter at the heart of the back line.

His consistent performances in England have not gone unnoticed, with reports from SportsBoom linking him to Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Liverpool FC ahead of the next transfer window.

Thiaw’s form has been central to Newcastle’s campaign. This season he has made 40 appearances in all competitions, contributing five goals and one assist — notable figures for a defender.

His reliability and physical presence have strengthened the side defensively, while his ability to contribute in attacking situations has added further value.

At 24, the German-Senegalese defender is seen as entering his prime years. His current market value is estimated at around €40m, though that figure could rise should formal offers materialise and competition between interested clubs intensify.

Despite the growing speculation, Newcastle remain focused on their immediate objectives. The club are preparing for the second leg of their Champions League play-off against Qarabağ FK, aiming to extend their European campaign.

Any potential departure would represent a significant decision for Newcastle, given Thiaw’s status within the squad. For now, however, the defender continues to play a pivotal role as the team balances domestic ambitions with European competition.

With major clubs monitoring his situation, the coming transfer window could prove decisive in shaping the next chapter of Thiaw’s career.
