Malian midfielder Baye Coulibaly is on the verge of securing a transfer to Major League Soccer (MLS) side Charlotte FC, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The 18-year-old talent is set to join the American club after a series of negotiations with his current team, Kostosija Zagreb in Croatia.

Romano revealed on Wednesday, December 4, that talks between Charlotte FC and the Croatian club are now in their final stages.

Despite attracting interest from multiple European clubs, Coulibaly appears to be heading for a move to the United States.

The deal, estimated at around €2 million, will also include performance-based bonuses, according to Romano’s update.

Additionally, the contract will feature a 20% sell-on clause, ensuring a future share for Kostosija Zagreb should Coulibaly be sold to another club down the line.

Coulibaly’s impending move to MLS marks a significant step in the midfielder’s career. The 18-year-old joined Kostosija Zagreb from Malian club Etoiles Mandé in a €500,000 deal, signing a five-year contract.

His impressive performances with the Croatian club have caught the attention of scouts across Europe and beyond, ultimately leading to his move to the U.S.

This transfer represents a promising opportunity for Coulibaly, who has shown great potential at a young age.

Charlotte FC, in search of strengthening their midfield, will be hoping the young star can help elevate their performance in the competitive MLS environment.

As the deal nears completion, Coulibaly’s arrival in MLS is expected to add significant talent to Charlotte’s roster, with the club securing a young player with considerable promise for the future.

With the potential for further development in the U.S., Coulibaly is poised to make an impact in the league and further his career on the international stage.
