Amadou Haidara appears set to bid farewell to RB Leipzig this summer, with the Bundesliga club reportedly open to his departure after seven years of service.

The Malian midfielder, who joined Leipzig in 2018 from sister club Red Bull Salzburg, has been a mainstay in the team’s midfield, racking up 220 appearances and scoring 15 goals.

At 27, Haidara is understood to be seeking a fresh challenge, and Leipzig are not expected to obstruct a potential exit despite his current contract running until 2026.

His time at the club has coincided with Leipzig’s rise as a consistent force in German football and on the European stage.

Known for his dynamism, tactical intelligence, and adaptability, Haidara has played under multiple managers and within a range of systems, demonstrating his value in both domestic and continental competitions.

The club’s willingness to part ways comes as it looks to refresh its squad ahead of the new season.

While no formal offers have been disclosed, interest is expected to intensify in the coming weeks, particularly from clubs seeking experienced midfield options with European pedigree.

Haidara’s versatility—able to operate as a defensive screen, a box-to-box presence, or even in more advanced roles—has made him a valuable asset for Leipzig.

His physical presence, ball-winning ability, and eye for a pass have been instrumental during key fixtures in the Bundesliga and Champions League.

Although an exit now appears likely, the player remains focused on finishing the current campaign with professionalism and commitment.

Leipzig continue to battle for European qualification, and Haidara is set to play a vital role in the closing weeks of the season.

While no destination has yet been confirmed, his profile is expected to attract attention from Premier League sides and Serie A clubs looking to bolster their midfield options.

Haidara’s desire for a new chapter aligns with Leipzig’s long-term strategy of squad renewal and player development.

As the summer transfer window approaches, the club and player are preparing for an amicable parting of ways—bringing to a close a tenure that has seen both grow significantly since their paths crossed in 2018.
