The versatile Malian attacking midfielder, Mamadou Traoré, fondly known as “Capi,” is poised to make a significant leap from Stade Malien in Bamako to the Algerian Ligue 1, having inked an agreement with Jeunesse Sportive de Kabylie, as reported by Africafoot.
Having previously plied his trade during the 2021/22 season in Turkey with Menemen Belediyespor, Traoré opted to terminate his contract, leading to his return to the Stade Malien fold in Bamako.
At 24 years of age, the promising Malian talent, sought after by various clubs across Europe and the Gulf regions, has chosen to embark on the Algerian football adventure. His accord with Jeunesse Sportive de Kabylie signals a fresh chapter in his career.
African U20 Champion in 2019 in Niamey, Niger, Traoré was a pivotal part of the Aiglons of Mali, clinching victory in the final against the Lion Cubs of Senegal (1-1, tab 3-2).
This move to Algeria presents him with a golden opportunity to showcase his prowess in a high-stakes African league.
In joining JS Kabylie, Traoré will be surrounded by a robust community of Malian footballers, including the likes of Sékou Konaté, also known as “Romario,” Abdoulaye Kanou (USM Alger), Abdou Salam Ag Jiddou, Moriba Diarra (Entente Sportive de Sétif), and Mamadou Samaké, affectionately known as “Petit” (CR Belouizdad). As ‘Capi’ gears up for this new chapter, anticipation is high for the impact he will bring to Algerian football.
