Carlos Kameni Expresses Frustration Over Lack of Playing Time at Málaga
Carlos Kameni, the Cameroonian goalkeeper who joined Málaga from Espanyol Barcelona in 2011, has spoken out about his difficult situation at the Andalusian club. Despite being on the books for several seasons, Kameni has not featured in a single La Liga match this season, and the 31-year-old is now dealing with the emotional toll of his sidelined status.
In an interview with Radio Marca, Kameni expressed his disillusionment, claiming that the club had given him false hope of a potential exit before abruptly closing the door on him. “I respected the management’s decision, but they allowed me to glimpse an exit and then immediately they closed the door on me,” Kameni said, his frustration evident.
The goalkeeper, who has been a key figure in past seasons, went on to make it clear that he feels he has earned every cent of his contract. “The money I have received so far I earned, they did not offer it to me,” he added. Kameni also revealed that he is unwilling to accept a pay cut should he leave, despite not playing for the club this season. “We are going to sit down, but I will not allow them to lower my salary, because that is what is stipulated in the contract, and I did not cause this situation.”
Kameni’s future at Málaga remains uncertain, and it’s clear that the goalkeeper is seeking a resolution to his current predicament.
