Mahmoud Samir switches to Sporting City after Cleopatra U23 spell

Egyptian right-back Mahmoud Samir has joined Sporting City from Cleopatra U23 on a free transfer, completing his move on 15 August 2026.

The 20-year-old defender becomes part of Sporting City’s squad after leaving Cleopatra U23, with the transfer recorded at the start of the 2026-27 season. No transfer fee is involved in the move.

Samir’s arrival adds a recognised right-back to Sporting City’s defensive options. He is listed as a defender whose main position is on the right side of the defence, the role he occupied before making the switch.

Born on 1 November 2005, Samir is an Egyptian national and joins Sporting City at the age of 20. His move keeps him in Egypt after his spell with Cleopatra U23 and represents a change of club at the beginning of the new campaign.

The transfer was completed on 15 August, with Sporting City becoming Samir’s current club following his departure from Cleopatra U23. The move is registered as a free transfer, and no contract expiry date has been announced.

Samir now begins his time with Sporting City as the club’s latest defensive addition. He has completed the move from Cleopatra U23 without a fee.
