Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet is back where it all began, and he’s aiming high.
The former Aston Villa winger has rejoined Al Ahly with a clear mission: help the Egyptian giants go all the way in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
After years in Europe’s top leagues, Trezeguet says his return isn’t driven by one tournament, but by a desire to give back to the club that raised him. “I owe Al Ahly everything I have achieved,” he said. “I look forward to a new start and writing a history full of achievements.”
Trezeguet believes he’s come home at the right moment, adding that Al Ahly’s ambition matches his own. “Playing for Al Ahly is an addition to any player,” he said, expressing pride in the team’s winning culture and fanbase.
With powerhouse opponents like Inter Miami in their group, Al Ahly face a tough road. But the Egyptian winger insists they’re not just participating, they’re competing to win it all.
