In a groundbreaking announcement, former Egyptian national team player Magdi Abdelghani revealed that Al Ahly has successfully concluded negotiations for a promising new deal with Palestinian-Danish forward Wissam Abu Ali.
Abdelghani emphasized that the financial compensation allocated by the Red Castle for the transfer is of such magnitude that it may prove irreplaceable.
Speaking on the “Malaeb Al Shams” program on Al Shams channel, Abdelghani stated, “Given the lack of trust in Modest, Al Ahly has secured the services of a forward with Palestinian and Danish nationality.
During our tenure at the Football Association, we decided that Palestinian players would be treated as Egyptians.”
He continued, “Wissam Abu Ali joins Al Ahly, and we hope this deal proves to be profitable.
The club has paid a purchase price of $1.6 million for him, signifying his exceptional talent.
With this sum, Al Ahly could potentially acquire six players from Latin America if they were to explore that market.”
Abdelghani clarified, “This is not a matter of extravagance. Although we acknowledge that Al Ahly may not recoup the $1.6 million, no club in Egypt knows how to compensate for such amounts.
This sentiment resonates more in popular circles than in significant and prominent clubs.”
He concluded, “When you invest a substantial amount in a player, you should know how to recover it.
We don’t engage in selling jerseys or underwear, even for players. However, when we pay, we pay significant figures.”
As Al Ahly secures a potential game-changer in Wissam Abu Ali, the financial commitment made by the club underscores its determination to invest in top talent and maintain a competitive edge in the football landscape.
