Alexis Mac Allister has expressed strong confidence in teammate Mohamed Salah as Liverpool FC prepare for a crucial clash against Galatasaray SK in the UEFA Champions League round of 16.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference ahead of the first leg in Turkey, the Argentine midfielder acknowledged that the current season has been challenging but insisted that Salah knows exactly what he needs to do to return to his best form.

Mac Allister said: “Mohamed Salah? The season has been tough and complicated for all of us, and it’s up to us as a team to help him get back to his best.”

He stressed that the responsibility lies with the entire squad to raise their performance levels and support each other on the pitch. “The responsibility lies with everyone to bring out their best. We succeeded in that last season, but we faced some difficulties this season.”

Mac Allister also praised Salah’s quality and experience, expressing confidence in the Egyptian star’s ability to improve his numbers as the season progresses.

“Salah knows very well what he needs to do to improve his numbers; he is an exceptional and wonderful player.”

The midfielder admitted that the team is still adapting to changes within the squad and learning how to work together with new arrivals.

“We are still learning how to play together with the new additions, and we are taking it one step at a time.”

Mac Allister concluded by highlighting his personal ambition for the season, underlining his desire to lift Europe’s most prestigious club trophy.

“My dream now is to win the Champions League, which is a very important goal for this season, and the team is fully capable of achieving it.”

Liverpool finished the group stage of the competition in third place with 18 points and will now aim to overcome Galatasaray in order to continue their campaign in Europe’s elite tournament.
