Naby Sarr Set to Join Sporting Portugal
According to L’Équipe, 21-year-old defender Naby Sarr is expected to sign with Sporting Portugal soon. The French Under-21 international, who struggled for playing time last season, does not appear to be part of Hubert Fournier’s plans at Lyon.
Naby Sarr, son of Senegalese footballer Sarr Boubacar, began his youth career at Paris Saint-Germain but moved to Olympique Lyonnais in 2008 after being released. He scored his first professional goal during his debut 2012-2013 Europa League match against Hapoel Shmona.
After years with Lyon’s reserves, Sarr signed his first professional contract in May 2013 for three years. He was also part of France’s Under-20 squad that won the 2013 Under-20 World Cup.
