Lyon Midfielder Gueïda Fofana Nears Return After Long Injury Layoff
Good news for Olympique Lyonnais as they prepare to strengthen their squad even further: Gueïda Fofana is on the verge of making his long-awaited return.
Out of action since March due to a serious injury, the midfielder has not featured for nearly a year. However, according to L’Équipe, Fofana’s surgeon has confirmed that the player is now in significantly better condition.
“Now I have to work to regain range of motion in the joint,” said Fofana, signaling that while he’s not match-ready just yet, the most critical phase of recovery is behind him.
A return date hasn’t been set, but his gradual reintegration could be a major boost for Lyon in the second half of the season.
