Lyon faced its 7th defeat, including 4 in Ligue 1, last Sunday with a 5-1 loss to Montpellier. This defeat, along with the team’s overall performance, has been a source of frustration for both players and the public.
Guieda Fofana, who played in various positions to compensate for absences, expressed his disappointment over the team’s recent struggles. Fofana, whether placed in the central hinge or at the lateral position, acknowledged the challenging period for both him and the team.
In a statement to RTL on Wednesday, Fofana shared, “It’s a bad week for me and for the team, but mental strength has always been my number one quality. I never complained, I take whatever is there to take. I know that in the medium and long term, it will help me bounce back. But it’s not easy to experience from a personal point of view, I play in different positions that are not mine.”
After 9 matchdays, Lyon currently occupies the 14th place in Ligue 1 with only 11 points, reflecting a challenging start to the season for Les Gones.
