Louey Ben Farhat: Karlsruher SC second striker linked with shock move to Nice in France transfer rumour

Nice are reported to be monitoring Karlsruher SC forward Louey Ben Farhat as the 19-year-old’s rapid rise in Germany’s 2. Bundesliga begins to attract interest from Ligue 1.

The Franco-Mediterranean link is a familiar one in European recruiting, and Nice are the latest club said to be assessing the Tunisian-German second striker, whose current market value is listed at €3.00m. The move is at rumour stage, with no fee or contract details disclosed and the probability of a deal currently marked only as “?”. There is also no publicly available information on the length of Ben Farhat’s existing deal at Karlsruher, which raises the possibility that he could become a free agent in the near future if his contract is close to expiry or left to run down.

Born in Waiblingen on 19 July 2006, Ben Farhat stands at 1.75m and plays primarily as a second striker, favouring his right foot. He has progressed entirely through the German system, moving from FSV Waiblingen’s youth set-up to Stuttgarter Kickers Youth in 2021, before switching to Karlsruher SC’s academy set-up in 2022. A promotion from the club’s U17 side to the U19s followed in 2023, and he stepped up to the Karlsruher SC first team on 1 January 2025.

Since then, his impact has been reflected in a steep rise in his valuation. Transfermarkt data shows Ben Farhat moving from €300,000 in February 2025 to €500,000 in March, before jumping to €3.00m in June 2025 – a figure that has been maintained into December 2025. That trajectory is understood to be linked to strong showings in the 2. Bundesliga, including recent outings for Karlsruher where his movement between the lines and link-up play in attack have been closely watched by scouts.

As a dual-national eligible for both Tunisia and Germany, any switch to France would also place him in a shop window for international selectors. Should Nice formalise their interest, the deal would mark the next step in a career that has accelerated quickly over the past two seasons and could significantly shape Ben Farhat’s development and reputation across Europe.
