Liverpool are not making any progress with contract talks with defender Ibrahima Konate amid interest from PSG.
The club’s contract with the French centre-back of Malian descent is set to expire in the summer of 2026.
Although Liverpool have been successful in renewals for Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, no similar progress has been made with Ibrahima Konate.
The uncertainty surrounding his future is beginning to draw attention, particularly in a season where contract expirations are dominating headlines at Anfield.
Liverpool have now come under pressure to avoid a repeat of the situation with Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contract stalemate may see him depart for Real Madrid on a free transfer at the end of the 2024/25 football season.
To make things worse for the Reds, Ibrahim Konate is a target of French Ligue 1 runaway champions PSG. If the club is able to convince the defender, he is likely to turn down any contract extension offer from Liverpool.
Checks have revealed that Konate is focused on the remainder of the season and will only think about contract renewal at the end of the campaign.
