Liverpool transfer focus shifts from Michael Olise to Yan Diomande
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has once again poured cold water on Liverpool’s chances of signing Bayern Munich attacker Michael Olise, stressing that a move is off the table for now.
“Liverpool certainly appreciates Michael Olise, but who wouldn’t appreciate Olise? Bayern has no intention of selling him or negotiating over him. There is no release clause. Liverpool has other realistic transfer targets,” he explained.
With Olise effectively unavailable, Liverpool have turned their attention to RB Leipzig’s exciting 19-year-old winger Yan Diomande, according to Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg.
The Reds are already monitoring Diomande closely and initial talks have reportedly taken place as they plan for a possible summer reshuffle in attack.
Liverpool is understood to be targeting a top-level winger ahead of next season, especially with the possibility that Mohamed Salah could leave the club in the upcoming transfer window.
However, any deal for Diomande will be complicated by Leipzig’s valuation, with the Bundesliga side said to be demanding up to €100 million, a price that currently makes a move to Bayern Munich unlikely as well.
