France international of Cameroonian descent Hugo Ekitike has emerged as a transfer target for Premier League in the ongoing summer transfer window.
Ekitike, who enjoyed an amazing campaign last term is being considered as a backup option to Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, who remains the top priority for the Reds.
Liverpool are keen on strengthening their attack for the 2025/26 football campaign, and are keen on securing the signature of Isak. The Reds has already made an approach and are prepared to pay more for his signing.
Ekitike has established himself as one of the top strikers following an impressive performance for Frankfurt in the recently concluded campaign.
After a failed stint with Paris Saint-Germain, Ekitike reinvented himself in the Bundesliga with 22 goals and 12 assists in 48 matches during the 2024-2025 season. The Frenchman started his career with Reims, where he scored 11 goals in 26 games during his breakout season with Les Champenois before his move to PSG.
Liverpool will turn their attention to Ekitike should their pursue for Isak fall through in the ongoing summer transfer window.
