Premier League giants, Liverpool, have completely ruled out winter departure for Egyptian international Mohammed Salah.
Salah has returned to the Reds for the upcoming Champions League match against Marseille following the closure of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The attacker had a remarkable tournament in the continental showpiece, scoring four goals, while the Egyptian national team finished fourth in the competition.
The pacey attacker penned a two-year new deal with the Premier League giants last year, with his current contract expected to expire in 2027.
Salah’s departure from Liverpool in the current winter transfer window looks impossible, as his comments after the Leeds United showdown were not part of plans to leave, but rather an emotional reaction to his diminished role at the club.
The forward’s only destination was the Saudi Professional League, given his salary of £400,000 a week with Liverpool in addition to bonuses, but the Egyptian Pharaoh refused to go to the Gulf, as the player feels comfortable being in Europe and specifically with the Reds alongside his family.
During the AFCON, Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas and Liverpool were in constant talks regarding the future of the attacker, with the club categorically refusing to sell the forward in the January window.
His exclusion from the team starting line was considered a temporary matter in light of his declining performance, not to make him a permanent substitute.
Meanwhile, Alexander Isak’s injury, which came just one week after Mohamed Salah traveled with the Egyptian national team to Morocco, disrupted Liverpool’s attacking plans and hastened the need for the Egyptian star to return to the team’s lineup.
Salah has scored 5 goals and provided four assists in 20 appearances for Liverpool this season, and the 33-year-old has failed to score since facing Aston Villa on November 1 in the English Premier League.
