English Premier League side, Liverpool is interested in signing France defender of Angolan descent, Castello Lukeba.
The Reds have been tracking the 22-year-old and have been impressed with his performances.
According to sources, Liverpool will make a move to secure the services of Castello Lukeba in the next summer transfer window.
Castello Lukeba, 22, is a former player of French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon but currently plays for German club RB Leipzig.
The defender is reported to have a release clause worth €90m that becomes active from July 1.
Liverpool can start negotiations now in hopes of signing the defender for a lower fee or wait to activate the release clause at the end of the 2024/25 football season.
Sources have told Africasoccer that Liverpool wants to sign Castello Lukeba as a long-term replacement for captain Virgil Van Dijk whose contract is running out.
Meanwhile, it is understood that Real Madrid is also keeping tabs on Castello Lukeba and could move to poach the youngster if Liverpool does not act swiftly.
