Liverpool identifies Alexander Isak as potential Mohamed Salah successor

Liverpool may soon face the challenge of replacing Mohamed Salah, with uncertainty growing over the Egyptian’s future at Anfield.

Despite another prolific season, in which he has scored 30 goals in 38 appearances, Salah’s contract expires in June 2025, and negotiations over an extension have reportedly stalled.

With no agreement in sight, Liverpool could be forced to consider a sale this summer rather than risk losing one of their greatest-ever players for free the following year.

As a result, the club has begun exploring potential replacements, and Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak has emerged as a top target.

The Swedish striker has been in impressive form for Newcastle, attracting the attention of Liverpool’s scouting department.

His pace, technical ability, and finishing prowess make him a strong candidate to fill the void that Salah’s departure would leave in the Reds’ attack.

However, securing his signature will not be straightforward.

Newcastle are reportedly demanding €180 million for the 24-year-old, a valuation that could pose a significant hurdle, even for a club of Liverpool’s stature.

The Magpies’ reluctance to part with one of their key players could force Liverpool to reconsider their approach or explore alternative options in the transfer market.

With time running out on Salah’s contract, Liverpool’s next move will be crucial in shaping their future attacking lineup.

Whether they meet Newcastle’s demands for Isak or pursue a different target, the club will need to act decisively as they prepare for a new era beyond their Egyptian talisman.
