Liverpool are interested in signing England defender of Ivorian descent Marc Guehi to augment the team’s squad.
The English Premier League side has been keeping tabs on the defender for while and wants to secure his services from Crystal Palace this summer.
Guehi’s performances for club and country have not gone unnoticed, attracting interest from several Premier League rivals, including Newcastle United, Chelsea and Inter Milan.
According to reports, Liverpool have joined the race for Guehi but faces strong competition from Manchester United, who are also in pursuit of the talented defender.
While Crystal Palace have not officially placed him on the market, Guehi’s contract, which is set to expire in a year, may force the Eagles to cash in now if they hope to command a full-value transfer fee.
The move for Guehi comes as part of a broader recruitment drive under new head coach Arne Slot. Liverpool have already completed the signing of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen and are reportedly closing in on his teammate Florian Wirtz.
Additionally, a deal for Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez is said to be nearing completion.
Should the deal be completed, Marc Guehi would play alongside top defenders Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate.
