Premier League giants Liverpool are closing in on the acquisition of France international of Cameroon descent Hugo Ekitike in the summer transfer window.
The Reds are keen on bolstering their squad for the upcoming 2025/26 football campaign, and Ekitike, who enjoyed an amazing run last term with Frankfurt has emerged as a priority party
Ekitike has caught the attention of multiple Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, who are keen on securing his signature this summer.
Coming off a prolific breakthrough campaign in Germany, the talented attacker netted 22 goals and provided 13 assists in 48 appearances for Frankfurt.
According to reports, Liverpool is currently finalizing formalities with Frankfurt for the acquisition of the 23-year-old, with Ekitike agreeing to a five-year deal with the club.
Previously, Chelsea and Manchester United had also shown interest in Ekitike, but the striker has made it clear he’s set his sights firmly on joining Liverpool.
Ekitike joined Eintracht in 2024, moving from PSG for €16.5 million, and since then has featured in 64 matches for the club, scoring 26 goals and providing 14 assists.
