Aly Cissokho, the French-Malian full-back, who has been sidelined due to injury for a month, is now healed and available for Liverpool’s upcoming match against Newcastle in the Premier League. His return to the squad aligns with the returns of teammates Glen Johnson and Joe Allen.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers expressed optimism about having the best team at his disposal for the trip to Newcastle, with Cissokho, Johnson, and Allen back in contention. While Cissokho had been training for several weeks during his recovery, his return, along with the others, strengthens Liverpool’s squad.
Cissokho, who was trained in Gueugnon, France, had a diverse career playing for clubs like Victoria Setubal and FC Porto in Portugal before returning to France with Lyon. After a stint with Lyon, he joined Valencia in 2012, initially on loan, and is now with Liverpool for the current season. His availability adds depth and options to Liverpool’s defensive lineup.
