Liverpool maintain firm pursuit of French-Cameroonian striker Hugo Ekitiké amid transfer market maneuvers

English club Liverpool are now leading the race for the signing of French forward of Cameroonian descent, Hugo Ekitike.

According to Transfer Insider Fabrizio Romano, the English Premier League champions are advancing in talks to secure the services of the highly-rated forward from Eintracht Frankfurt.

“Understand Liverpool are advancing today in club-to-club talks with Eintracht for Hugo Ekitike.

“While Isak deal depends on final decision by Newcastle as they insist on not-for-sale stance…

“…Liverpool also progressing on both club and player side for Ekitike,” Romano announced.

After recently turning down Newcastle United’s 80 million euros offer for Ekitike, Frankfurt are demanding 100 million euros for the forward.

It is understood that the club’s decision to demand more money is influenced by a clause that would see 20% of any future transfer fee paid to Ekitiké’s former club, Paris Saint-Germain.
