Following a string of five league matches without a victory, the Mastiffs finally found their form again in the previous fixture with a 2-0 win against Sochaux. This victory brought great satisfaction to Ivorian international Salomon Kalou.
“It’s our first league victory since the break, and it feels really good. This win will help us regain confidence and achieve positive results. It was a good evening, especially considering that Saint-Etienne drew. We maintain our third place, and this first victory in 2014 is a significant morale boost,” commented Kalou after the match.
