Lille Open to Sofiane Boufal Sale Amid European Interest
Sofiane Boufal’s future at Lille looks increasingly uncertain, with reports suggesting the Moroccan winger could be allowed to leave at the end of the season.
According to L’Équipe, Lille’s management have placed Boufal on the departure list despite his contract running until June 2019. The decision comes as several major European clubs circle around the highly rated attacker, with Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, and Manchester City among those linked.
Boufal has been one of Lille’s standout players since arriving from Angers in 2015, dazzling with his dribbling skills and creativity. However, his recent dip in form has coincided with speculation over his future. Lille, aware of the mounting interest, are reportedly prepared to cash in, with his price tag estimated at more than €20 million.
For the 22-year-old, the end of the season could mark a turning point in his career. A move to one of Europe’s elite clubs would represent a significant step up, while Lille could benefit financially from what would be one of the club’s most lucrative sales in recent years.
The coming months will be decisive, both for Boufal’s development and for Lille’s planning. With strong suitors already in the frame, the Moroccan winger looks set to be one of Ligue 1’s headline names in the next transfer window.
