Abdou Sissoko, the 22-year-old Malian midfielder and younger brother of Momo Sissoko, is making a name for himself at Stade Brestois. After being loaned to the Breton club by Udinese last season, Sissoko has become a regular starter in the Brest eleven since the beginning of the current season. He expressed his satisfaction with having more playing time and the confidence of the coach.
Sissoko emphasized that he wants to prove himself in every match and work towards a successful season for Stade Brestois. He mentioned that the hardest part is still to come, but he is determined to show that he belongs and aims to secure maintenance in Ligue 1 as quickly as possible. Sissoko also expressed his desire to continue in Ligue 1 and ruled out a return to Italy for the time being.
The midfielder gained recognition during the 2011 Toulon Tournament with the French under-20 selection, winning the tournament as a starter. He signed a four-season deal with Udinese in Italy in 2011 and was later loaned to Stade Brestois in January 2012. Despite a challenging start, Sissoko’s performances in the second part of the season showcased his combativeness and physical power, contributing to the team’s defensive improvement.
