LIGUE 1-OM/AYEW: “FINISH IN THE TOP FIVE”

This Sunday, Olympique de Marseille (OM) will face Olympique Lyonnais (OL) in a crucial match for the race to qualify for the Europa League. With OM sitting sixth in the Ligue 1 table and Lyon just ahead in fifth, this encounter could be pivotal for both teams’ aspirations.

OM is struggling in recent form, having won only one of their last four matches, a 3-1 victory over relegation-threatened Ajaccio. However, they have not scored in their other three games, making this match a must-win if they are to keep their hopes of qualifying for the Europa League alive.

André Ayew, one of OM’s key players, addressed the media ahead of the game, expressing optimism despite the tough season. He acknowledged the challenge but emphasized the importance of finishing the season strong, both for the players and the club. “It’s not a final, but it’s a match that can allow us to stay in the race,” he said, underlining the team’s resolve to push for a top-five finish.

With only a few games remaining, this clash at the Vélodrome will be a decisive one for both teams as they look to secure European football for next season.
