Libyan giants Al-Hilal SC have finalized the signing of experienced Sudanese midfielder Abu Aqla Abdullah, successfully completing all contractual formalities to secure his services.

The club officially unveiled the 32-year-old as their newest recruit, marking his second stint in the Libyan Premier League. His return to Libyan football is seen as a strategic move by Al-Hilal as they aim to bolster their squad with experience and leadership.

Abu Aqla began his professional journey with Sudanese powerhouse Al-Hilal Omdurman, where he spent eight formative years. During his time at the club, he established himself as a key figure in midfield, earning recognition for his composure on the ball, tactical intelligence, and work rate.

In the summer of 2024, the midfielder made his first move abroad, joining Al-Ahly Benghazi from Al-Hilal Omdurman. His spell in Libya provided him with valuable exposure and further enhanced his reputation as a dependable and disciplined performer in the heart of midfield.

On the international stage, Abu Aqla has been a consistent presence for Sudan. He has earned 55 caps for the national team, contributing two goals while playing an instrumental role in several continental campaigns. His wealth of experience at both club and international levels is expected to add depth and stability to Al-Hilal’s squad.

With the deal now sealed, the Libyan side will be hopeful that Abu Aqla’s leadership qualities and familiarity with the league will help drive their ambitions in the upcoming season.
