Liam Rosenior praying Trevoh Chalobah injury is not serious
Chelsea are anxiously waiting for further news on Trevoh Chalobah after the defender was stretchered off late in their 3-0 Champions League defeat to PSG, having suffered what appeared to be a serious ankle injury.
Speaking after the game, head coach Liam Rosenior admitted he was deeply concerned but hopeful the issue will not rule Chalobah out long term. “Trevoh, I just asked the medical team,” Rosenior said when asked for an immediate update.
“He’s got a high ankle sprain, so I’m praying it’s nothing too serious because we can’t lose another defender.” Chelsea have already been battling injuries across the backline this season, and losing another experienced option would be a major blow heading into a crucial run of fixtures.
Rosenior also stressed the importance of his squad responding in the right way after the heavy defeat in Europe.
“When you go through a difficult run, you have to make sure your habits are right. We have a really difficult game at Everton and we have to be at our best to get a result there,” he added, underlining the need for focus and resilience in the coming days.
