Liam Rosenior fumes as Chelsea crumble at Arsenal, calls urgent training session

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has signaled a tough week ahead, planning an urgent training ground session after Saturday night’s 2-1 defeat at Arsenal.

Two goals from corners, courtesy of William Saliba and Jurrien Timber, sandwiched an own goal by Piero Hincapie, while Pedro Neto saw red on 70 minutes, compounding Chelsea’s frustrations.

Rosenior expressed exasperation after the match, describing the defeat as “self-inflicted” and highlighting recurring defensive lapses. He emphasized the need for ruthlessness in both penalty areas and pledged to tackle the issues in training rather than in public.

“The first goal is top. Arsenal are probably the best team in the world at them. The second one is just disappointing,” Rosenior said, underscoring the pattern of mistakes from set pieces that has plagued the Blues this season.

Despite tactical setups he believes were solid, Rosenior acknowledged the team’s inability to convert dominance into results.

“It’s a combination. The marking, the zone players. The goalkeeper is involved. I won’t single out. I will address it on the training ground,” he explained, indicating a focus on collective responsibility rather than blaming individuals.

Chelsea’s loss leaves them sixth in the Premier League, six points adrift of the top four, and Rosenior remains focused on bridging the gap.

“We are playing them. If we solve this problem, we have a great chance and it’s very simple,” he added, stressing that the solution lies in correcting errors that continue to undermine the squad’s potential.
