Leipzig linked with Roma’s €30m-rated Morocco midfielder Neil El Aynaoui

Neil El Aynaoui, the Morocco and France midfielder at Roma, has been linked with a move to Bundesliga club Leipzig.

The reported interest comes with El Aynaoui valued at €30m, while the rumour has been assessed at a 69% probability. No transfer has been confirmed, and the 25-year-old remains under contract with Roma until 30 June 2030.

El Aynaoui has made one Serie A appearance for Roma this season, playing six minutes without scoring or assisting. His limited domestic involvement contrasts with a prominent international role: he started all six of Morocco’s matches at the 2026 World Cup, playing 99% of the available minutes.

The midfielder joined Roma from Lens on 20 July 2025 in a deal worth €23.5m. He had spent two seasons at Lens after progressing from AS Nancy, making the move to the Italian capital the biggest transfer of his club career.

El Aynaoui was also part of Morocco’s Africa Cup of Nations-winning squad in 2025. His potential move would take him from Serie A to the Bundesliga, but Roma’s long-term contract position means any deal would be expected to involve negotiations rather than a free transfer.
