Legendary French coach Raymond Domenech and Franck Haise have been linked with the Tunisia coaching job, as the search for a new tactician gather space.
The Carthage Eagles are currently without a substantive coach following the departure of Sam Trabelsi after 2025 Africa Cup of Nation elimination.
Tunisia painfully exited the continental showpiece, being held in Morocco after falling short to Mali on penalties on Saturday, January 3, 2026 in the round of 16 clash.
The North African outfit had snatched a late lead in the 88th minute at the Mohammed V Stadium, but Mali staged a strong comeback to restore parity, forcing a penalty shootouts in the high-stake clash.
Despite playing with a numerical advantage for large periods of the match, the Carthage Eagles failed to book a place in the quarterfinals, with Mali edging Tunisia 3-2 on penalties after a fiercely contested 1–1 draw across regulation and extra time.
Tunisia are now on the hunt of the new coach following the exit of Trabelsi after early AFCON elimination, with the legendary French coach Raymond Domenech and former Nice gaffer Franck Haise emerging as frontrunners for the vacant job.
Domenech, who once managed the French national team and Franck Haise are reportedly in talks about taking charge of the Tunisia national team.
With talks progressing, the North African outfit could appoint one of the leading candidate for the job in the coming days.
The new coach will be tasked with preparing the team for the 2026 World Cup, to be held in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
Tunisia will face the Netherlands, Japan, and the winner of the European playoff B (Ukraine, Sweden, Poland, or Albania) at the group stages of the World Cup.
