Leeds are being linked with a summer move for Dynamo Dresden defensive midfielder Kofi Amoako.

The 20-year-old, who holds both German and Ghanaian nationality, is reportedly on Leeds’ radar after emerging as one of Dynamo Dresden’s most highly rated young players in the 2. Bundesliga. Data from Transfermarkt lists his current market value at €2.00m, with the probability of any transfer at this stage described only as “?”.

Amoako is under contract at SG Dynamo Dresden, but with no publicly available expiry date recorded, speculation has grown that Leeds could look to exploit any uncertainty over his situation. Were his deal to run down, the prospect of the midfielder moving as a free agent at a later stage has also been raised in German media discussion.

Born in Hannover on 6 May 2005 and standing at 1.86m, Amoako has developed into a specialist in the holding role, operating primarily as a right-footed defensive midfielder. He wears the number 6 shirt for Dresden and has been used at the base of midfield, protecting the back line and helping to build play from deep.

The Dynamo man has featured in the 2. Bundesliga this season, with his performances in Germany’s second tier drawing increasing interest from scouts tracking emerging talent. In a recent league outing for Dresden – a tight fixture that finished level and underlined his combative style in central areas – Amoako impressed with his positional discipline and ball-winning, further fuelling talk of a move.

Any deal would represent a step up from the 2. Bundesliga to the Premier League, and if Leeds choose to firm up their interest, a transfer could prove a defining moment in Amoako’s career and a significant test of his potential at the highest level.
