Reigning Ghanaian Premier League title holders Medeama SC have named experienced Bosnian coach Nebojsa Kapor as the successor to the departed Evans Adotey.
Kapor has signed a one-year deal with the option for an additional two seasons after leaving fellow top-flight side Bechem United.
In a statement announcing the appointment on Thursday, the club suggested the new man’s intimate knowledge of Ghanaian football coupled with his progressive tactics were pivotal factors behind the decision to recruit him.
“I am very happy to be here and also contribute to the success of the champions,” Kapor told the club’s media team after putting pen to paper.
“It’s an ambitious club and I’m happy with everything that’s happening here in Tarkwa.”
The 37-year-old also paid tribute to predecessor Adotey for laying solid foundations and promised fans he will “fight for trophies this season”.
Kapor is no stranger to Ghana having already taken charge of Tema Youth and Bechem prior to his switch to the two-time FA Cup winners.
He also previously held roles as Technical Director at multiple academies in his homeland Bosnia.
Medeama will be banking on his blend of local understanding and European schooling as they attempt to defend the league crown won last term.
