Group B of the group stage of the Club Champions League consists of Esperance de Tunis, CS Sfaxien, Entente Sétif, and Al Ahli Benghazi. This was decided by the draw conducted on Tuesday in Cairo.
When questioned at a press conference on Tuesday, Esperance coach Ruud Krol emphasized the importance of not underestimating any opponent: “Nothing is won in advance,” the Dutch coach told journalists. “If they’re in the competition, there must be a good reason. And for me, the only explanation is that Al Ahli Benghazi is an excellent team. Despite the poor form of the Egyptians, you need an opponent with great qualities to be able to beat them, so they are a serious opponent. As for ES Setif, I don’t know much about them, but I know that Algerian clubs are always tough. CS Sfaxien should also be considered our main rival.”
